Yoga For Caregivers

 

Yoga for Caregivers is a six-week series to provide support, education, and skill integration for people who are experiencing the demands of caring for others. Whether you are in the role of parenting, caring for elders and spouses, or employed as a professional service provider, the challenges of caregiving frequently come with the cost of self-care. This workshop series is offered by Dayna Pinkerton, a certified yoga therapist, teacher, life-long yoga practitioner, and mental health counselor.


Through gentle movement practices, breath awareness, discussion, reflection, and embodiment, the six-week format will address:
*Self-Assessment and Self-Care
*Balance
*Self-Study and Mindfulness
*Mapping a Plan across the layers of experience (Koshas)
*Avoid Burnout
*Integration

At the completion of this 9-hour course you will have skills and practices to build into your daily life, track your energetic needs, and balance your system. Come home to yourself. Be restored, refreshed, and equipped to care for yourself while caring for others. Open to all, regardless of previous yoga experience.

 

This workshop series is offered as an in-person course, but we will have zoom access & recordings for our in-person participants if you cannot make it in person for some of the weeks. We will also have space for 5 zoom-only participants, meaning even if you aren't local to York, you are welcome to join Dayna for this incredible self-care course.

  • Set up in a place with minimal distraction

  • Have props nearby

  • Come with an empty stomach and curious mind

Dayna was the first teacher that seemed to really understand my practice.  I liked the slower pace of the class that allowed for focus on position and alignments within the pose. I also liked how she always asked us what we wanted from the class before we started and how she would slowly incorporate new poses into the practice.
